This event brings together up-and-coming student performers from across Canada right here in Kelowna, offering an exciting and delightful glimpse into the future of opera!
Rosemary Thomson

Conductor and pianist Rosemary Thomson is passionate about the collaborative art form of opera and its infinite possibilities for musical storytelling. She became Artistic Director of Opera Kelowna in 2020 and is Conductor Emeritus for the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. Thomson has guest conducted across the country and in the UK, and recently made her debut with the Vancouver Opera and Canadian Opera Companies. With Tapestry Opera she conducted the world premiere of Shawnadithit, which garnered her a Dora nomination. She has received the Kelowna Civic Honour in the Arts award and the Community Spirit award from the BC Achievement Foundation.
